Rolling for a Decade

June 3rd 2009 may not be a memorable day for most people, but its a date J2 will never forget. On this day 10 years ago is when he was involved in a motorcycle crash that left him paraized at C5 level. "it's crazy how time flies, it does not seem like its been 10 years" J2 says. On this date J2 usually spends the day reflecting on the years that have passed. He does not let the day get him down or depressed, instead he thinks about the future and what things he can accomplish before the next June 3rd.

On this 2009 June 3rd, J2 had a full packed busy day. He started by finishing up and launching a website for his favorite radio host and sponsor, The Jason Ellis Show. For a few months he put off finishing the website because of other products that needed to be complete. The website took a few days to complete and around 30 hours was put into it. He was determined to get www.EllisMateShow.com launched on this day, and it was.

After the website was finished J2 had a appointment at the inking station, otherwise known as the tattoo shop. J2 a fan of tattoo's since a young age has been getting tattooed since age 17. He has been getting a few pieces done each year, and June 3rd is a day he likes to setup a regular appointment. He says "this is a day I will never forget, and its a day my body changed, so I think its a great day to add and change something on it". He went to his favorite shop for the past 6 years, Deluxe Tattoo in Chicago. There he met with artist Zach Stuka who was tattooing J2 for the first time, but has known him for many years. With many ideas and designs J2 still has in mind getting, he choose to get a Super Chairing logo he designed for his organization Extreme Chairing. He made this decision because the symbol represents living life full throttle, fast, and strong even in a wheelchair. It reminds him of 10 years of not giving up and reminds him of the great organization he has started.

When the tattoo was complete J2 had to rush back home and get ready for a Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation seminar he was invited to. After badling 1 hour in traffic to get home he only had 15 minutes to eat and get back out the door. With over another hour of driving he arrived in downtown Chicago at the Whitehall Hotel. The affair was small and intimate and J2 was able to meet the directors, scientists, researchers, and president of CDRF. He also met a few other men and women with Spinal Cord Injuries and was able to tell them about Extreme Chairing's Organization.
After the meeting J2 headed back to his new apartment to relax and call it a night.
The day that has changed his life forever will be filled with many other memories with every year that passes.
